Map2Match

Finds differences in your images

Automatic image comparison without manual pre-processing

If you want to compare images or texts, differences may become visible by superimposing the two images. But what happens if the two images do not match in size, shape and perspective? The comparison becomes confusing or even completely impossible! Map2Match is a technology that adjusts two images so they can be superimposed despite their differences in size, shapes or perspective. This allows for difference analysis  – without any tedious, manual pre-processing.

Example: text-based forms

Simple superposition fails:

Original form page, for example in DOC- or PDF-format.

Edited page: printed, amended and scanned or photographed.

Simple superposition of the originaland the scan: The contents cannot be analyzed – neither digitally nor by human eye.

Map2Match allows for superposition:

Original form page, for example in DOC- or PDF-format.

Edited page: printed, amended and scanned or photographed.

Superposition of the two pages after alignment by Map2Match technology: the text of both pages is legible and the handwritten entries are clearly visible as differences, automatically highlighted in green.

Example: image comparison - is a given image part of a larger canvas?

Simple superposition fails:

An original photo depicts the scene.

A second photo represents a section of the image.

Simple superposition of the two images does not add value.

Map2Match allows for superposition:

An original photo depicts the scene.

A second photo represents a section of the image.

The overlay of both images after Map2Match reconstruction shows only minor differences due to photo lighting and depth of field.

The answer is: yes, the comparison photo is indeed cropped from the original.

Example: image comparison - what has been changed?

Simple superposition fails:

Again, an original photo depicts the scene.

A comparison image is photographed from different angle and rotation.

Simply superimposing the two images does not show the difference.

Map2Match allows for superposition:

The original photo depicts the scene.

The comparison image is photographed from a different angle.

Map2Match reconstruction shows a significant change.

The answer is: The image section was rotated and a stone (marked in light green) has been removed.
